Hey royals,

People often assume that if your story is compelling enough to be featured in the media, speaking opportunities will naturally follow.

Someone actually asked me this recently: "If the story is very compelling and featured on the news, might we be able to get speaking opportunities right away?"

It's a very logical question.

And I understand why people think this way.

After all, we often see people featured on TV, newspapers, or online media... and shortly after, they appear on stage somewhere.

So it feels like the two things are connected.

But the truth is a little more nuanced.

There is a big difference

Media features are usually about inspiration.

Your journey.
Your struggles.
Your comeback story.

Maybe you built something amazing.
Maybe you overcame something difficult.
Maybe your story simply resonates with people.

And that's wonderful.

Media visibility can open doors.

It builds credibility and awareness.

But when an organisation invites someone to speak on stage, they are usually looking for something slightly different.

They are not just looking for someone with a great story.

They are looking for someone who can deliver value to the audience.

That means insights.
Frameworks.
Lessons people can apply.

A story may inspire people.

But expertise helps people solve problems.

That's why some people get featured once... and never speak again.

While others get booked repeatedly.

If someone wants to build a real speaking career, the positioning needs to shift from:

"I have an inspiring story."

to

"I have expertise that helps people."

A simple framework I often share is this:

Step 1 - Define your expertise

What do you actually know that others want to learn?

Examples could be:

  • AI and automation

  • Entrepreneurship

  • Leadership

  • Personal branding

  • Wealth building

Your story becomes the context, but your knowledge becomes the value.

Step 2 - Turn experience into frameworks

Audiences remember structured insights.

Instead of: "I went through this experience."
It becomes: "Here are the 3 things I learned from this experience."

Frameworks make your ideas teachable and repeatable.

This workflow is available on Seraphina AI under the Content Studio!

Step 3 - Speak from expertise, not just experience

Experience makes the talk interesting.

Expertise makes the talk worth paying for.

That's the difference between being invited once... and being invited again.

Expertise compounds

This idea applies far beyond speaking.

In business and investing, the same principle appears again and again.

Stories create attention.

But expertise creates long-term value.

A compelling story might get you a headline.

But real knowledge builds a reputation that compounds over time.

And when that happens, opportunities start finding you.

This is one of the reasons

We created Speakers Society.

Most people think speaking is about confidence or stage presence.

In reality, the bigger challenge is positioning.

How do you transform:

  • your story

  • your experience

  • your knowledge

into something that organisations are willing to pay for?

That's exactly what we explore inside the community.

Because the goal isn't just to speak once.

It's to build a platform where your voice creates real opportunities.

One of my favourite things

To watch is when someone realises that their everyday work experience actually contains powerful insights.

Many people think, "I don't have an inspiring enough story."

But very often, what audiences want most is clarity.

Not perfection.

And sometimes the most powerful talks come from people who simply share what they've learned along the way.

Manifestation

Manifest → Verbalise → Take action

This week I've been reflecting on something simple.

Your story matters.

But your voice matters even more.

Manifest the impact you want to create.
Verbalise the insights you've learned along the way.
Take action by sharing them with the world.

Opportunities rarely appear from silence.

They appear when people hear your perspective.

Sign-off

Anyway, that was today's confession.

A story may get you featured.

But expertise is what gets you booked.

P.S. Seraphina says: "Stories attract attention. Systems attract opportunities."
