Hey royals,
May 27th is always a date that tugs at my heartstrings - it's the 11th anniversary of Royal Privileged, the first run of the Speakers Society Masterclass, and also Zheng Geping 哥哥's birthday, someone who taught me so much about the media industry and the discipline of fitness.
A bit of nostalgia
11 years ago, I registered Royal Privileged on this exact date. Back then, it wasn't just me and Geping 哥哥 - our trainer, Joey, and a whole bunch of friends would join us for gym sessions 3 to 4 times a week. We learned about pushing ourselves, staying consistent, and yes, the media industry grind. But as life moves, so do we - people grow apart, and that's okay.
Fast forward to today
Yesterday, I ran the very first Speakers Society Masterclass - and let me be real: It was a bit of a circus! My home "office" was still a work hazard zone (no tiles, no real table). The table was so small that even my phone had no space, and while Seraphina was ready to support me with time tracking, transitions, and engagement prompts, I simply couldn't fit everything in.
Ben was at a media tasting, Kelly could only jump in 10 minutes before we went live, and I didn't have a second monitor - so there was no presenter mode, no next-slide preview, no timer. I had to improvise the entire webinar. It ended up being the longest one I've ever done, but honestly, it was also the most real and raw. Sometimes, that's exactly what you need to grow.
Lesson learned
Always have a second monitor - you'll thank me later!
Never skip the dry run, no matter how short it is.
And remember, imperfect doesn't mean ineffective - progress over perfection, always.
