Hey royals,
Here's something that might surprise you.
I'm actually not very good at networking.

Not because I dislike people.
Not because I'm shy.
But because I'm terrible at starting conversations without context.
Small talk has never been my strength.
Early in my career
I always knew networking mattered.
People would say things like:
"You should network more."
"You need to expand your connections."
Which sounds sensible.
But no one really explains how to do it if you're someone like me.
I'm very topic-oriented.
I like talking about things like:
AI
Technology
Entrepreneurship
Money
Building systems
Random conversations about the weather, traffic, or where someone lives?

Giphy
Not exactly my comfort zone.
Why LinkedIn changed everything
When LinkedIn became popular, something shifted for me.
Before speaking to someone, I could see:
• Their background.
• Their company.
• What they cared about.
• What they were building.
Suddenly, conversations had context.
And once I had context?
Networking became much easier.
Because I wasn't starting from nothing anymore.
A moment that reminded me
Recently, I attended a conference with Chloe.
We were seated at a table when someone started talking to me.
As we continued the conversation, I realised something.
I actually knew the company he was from.
Not only that - I knew someone from their leadership team.
That one small piece of context changed the entire conversation.
The rapport grew naturally.
Soon, we were talking with the entire table.
By the end of the evening, we even formed a little "We Love Money" group.
That moment reminded me of something.
I'm not bad at making connections.
I'm just not great at starting conversations out of thin air.
🎤 What being a speaker changed
Something interesting happened when I started speaking more on stage.
Networking suddenly became easier.
Because people approach you.
They come with questions.
They come with curiosity.
They come with context.
And for someone like me - someone who enjoys solving problems and discussing ideas - conversations flow much more naturally from there.
Before events, I'll often look through the speaker list.
Once I know who people are and what they care about, starting conversations becomes simple.
Again...
Context.
Over time, I realised something.
Networking isn't just about being the most outgoing person in the room.
Sometimes it's about understanding people first.
Which is why digital networking has always been easier for me.
Many of my early business opportunities actually came from:
• LinkedIn.
• Niche forums.
• Tech communities.
• Open-source circles.
When I started People's Inc. 360, one of our early opportunities came from WordPress communities.
At that time, many websites were getting hacked due to vulnerabilities.
Our system could automatically patch and scale security fixes - essentially providing a managed solution for WordPress sites.
Because we were active in the right communities, we were able to talk to people who already had the exact problem we solved.
And when conversations start with a shared problem...
They become much easier.
Why this event exists
Which brings me to something happening this month.
We're hosting a Speakers Society gathering around something many founders, creators, and speakers struggle with:
Not the awkward kind.
But the kind where conversations actually lead to:
• Collaborations
• Partnerships
• Opportunities
• Friendships
And to be very honest...
I'm excited about this event, not just as a host.
But as a learner.
Because there are people who are far better networkers than I am.
And we're bringing several of them together to share how they do it.
🎂 A small surprise
There's also a little twist that night.
We'll be celebrating Vicky's birthday with the community.

But not with a normal cake.
Let's just say... we've designed something a little unusual.
You'll have to see it for yourself.
✨ Manifestation
(Manifest → Verbalise → Take action)
One of my intentions this year is simple.
To build stronger conversations and deeper communities.
Because opportunities rarely come from cold transactions.
They come from relationships built over time.
And sometimes...
All it takes is one good conversation.
From Conversations to Clients.
📅 March 24, 2026, 6.30pm to 10pm
📍 Alpha Vitality, Singapore
We're keeping the gathering intentionally intimate so conversations can actually happen.
We're aiming for about 50 people, and may open up a few more seats if space allows.
If you enjoy real conversations more than transactional networking, this might be the room you want to be in.
Until the next confession,
Sabrina 'Princessa' Wang
P.S. Seraphina says this: Conversations compound faster than algorithms. And sometimes the best opportunities begin with a simple "hello".
