Repeating
I gave a keynote with the stomach flu. Here's what it taught me.
Hey royals,
This week, I had a 1:1 call that left me... a little speechless.
Not because it was amazing.
But because I spent nearly 45 minutes giving my all, trying to engage, connect, and understand.
And then she casually dropped two names.
Two names that clicked - they were people I had recently interviewed on the podcast.
That's when it hit me: She wasn't here for coaching. She thought it was a podcast interview. 😮💨
No heads-up. No pre-frame. Just one-word answers and me trying to fill in the blanks.
It wasn't her fault. But it became the mirror I didn't expect to hold up to myself.
From curious to burnt out
I started doing more 1:1 coaching recently - partly from curiosity, partly from respect for a partner I trust.
You see, I'm the teacher's pet type.
If I work with someone, I listen. I test. I give it a real shot.
That's my form of respect: you trust the people you choose.

But I forgot one thing...
Just because something can work doesn't mean it should work for me.
1:1s aren't bad. In fact, when the synergy is right, they're incredible.
However, when I began scheduling multiple 60- to 90-minute sessions a day, I wasn't coaching.
I was performing a keynote on loop.
To one person.
Over. And over. Again.
The reality behind the ring light
Let's be honest. I'm trained for performance.
Host, VJ, keynote speaker - you name it.
I know how to speak into silence and carry energy, even virtually.
But here's what I forgot: I thrive in rooms that respond.

I'm most alive when I'm either solving problems 1:1 with someone truly present...
Or when I'm speaking to a crowd - feeding off their energy, building momentum, creating magic.
So now, I'm making a shift.
Not to cancel 1:1s.
But to curate them - funnels.
To design a rhythm where I balance one-to-many formats with one-on-one depth so that I can show up fully, not on fumes.
Systems over sacrifice
To make this work, I've restructured things around energy flow, not just outcomes.
Here's what I'm doing differently:
🧠 Everyone goes through a speaker library or masterclass first - my core ideas are accessible without live time.
🔁 Everything gets repurposed - from 1:1s to webinars to keynotes. (Ben's getting scary good at this 😏.)
🔄 1:1s are now curated moments, reserved for co-creation or high-context problem-solving, not repeated lectures.
Because let's be real: The cost of over-giving isn't just time. It's spark.
Nobody knew I had stomach flu
This whole realisation hit harder after I rewatched my day 1 keynote at Nas Summit:
That talk on hyper-personalisation?
I gave it while quietly dying from the stomach flu.
But I still showed up. Still delivered. Because that's what being a speaker - being professional - is about.
It reminded me that we can't always choose the circumstances, but we can choose how we design our presence.
From solo expert to scalable speaker
What I'm learning (again and again): Scaling isn't about doing more.
It's about doing what matters - in the right format, with the right intention, and a whole lot more self-respect.
Speaking lights me up. But only if I'm not diminishing myself in the process.
I still believe in 1:1.
There's power in intimate conversations, especially when you're monetising from your voice.
But 1:1 works best when it's intentional, curated, and part of a bigger system that protects your energy.

So I'm choosing aligned formats.
Designing a flow around my energy.
And making sure my voice works with me, not against me.
Speak once. Scale forever.

Spotlight
This week's shoutout goes to Ben, who's been learning how to repurpose content like a pro.
Keynotes, 1:1s, reels, workflows - nothing is safe from his wizardry. 🪄
You don't need to do less.
You just need to design better.
Let your brilliance echo, not repeat.
Speak once. Scale forever.
With love and leverage,
Sabrina 'Princessa' Wang
P.S. You're not "too much". You're just in the wrong container. Fix the format, not your fire.
